Many people are discovering that acupuncture is a safe, natural and low cost approach to the treatment of infertility. Acupuncture, targeted supplements and herbs can be used as a primary treatment for infertility, or to enhance the effectiveness of reproductive medical procedures such as IUI and IVF. Studies have shown that acupuncture before and after embryo transfer results in much higher pregnancy rates and low miscarriage rates.
Interestingly, the goal of Chinese Medicine is less to create conception, than creating a healthy vessel for conceiving, and then carrying a fetus to term. In this way, fertility and conception become the natural progression of the person’s enhanced health. Many women struggling with fertility issues are all too aware of the ‘window of opportunity’, and have a sense that they are running out of time. Still, a healthy, calm forty year-old woman has a better chance of conceiving and holding a pregnancy than a woman who is forty and unhealthy.
ACUPUNCTURE FOR FEMALE INFERTILITY
In studies reviewed by Weill Cornell Medical Center, researches concluded that acupuncture can:
Increase blood flow to the uterus to improve the chances of embryo implantation
Reduce stress and anxiety that may significantly decrease fertility
Normalize the hormone systems that regulate ovulation
Positively affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis that plays a key role in fertility
Regulate the Menstrual cycle
Statistically, one in six to ten couples will experience issues with conception and fertility. Often it requires only subtle, natural adjustments to the endocrine system for this difficulty to diminish greatly or even disappear altogether. These adjustments can often be achieved naturally, as we strengthen the immune system, thus jump-starting the body’s own powerful ability for self-healing.
MALE FACTOR INFERTILITY
It is estimated that male factor infertility is responsible for up to 50% of infertility among couples. Despite scientific medical advances, the cause infertility in about half of these men is still unknown, so there is little to no available medical treatment. This leaves IVF as the only option. Acupuncture and TCM has shown to be very successful in treating low sperm count, poor morphology and decreased motility. One study showed that acupuncture treatment for men increased sperm count and motility in 67% of men in the study. Studies have also shown acupuncture to improve sperm quality, resulting in less chromosomal abnormalities and decreased.

UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY
Those receiving the frustrating diagnosis of “Unexplained Infertility”can utilize hypnosis. There may be emotional issues blocking one or more partners from allowing on or both partners from becoming parents. The mind can subconsciously block fertility when ambivalence is present. Perhaps there are hidden financial concerns, or unhappy childhood memories. By going into safe hypnosis, the individual can often resolve the hidden problem. At Blue Phoenix we have been doing this work since 2005 and helped many people discover, and then resolves their blocks to parenthood.
