Stress Less For Better Sleep: Your Body Will Love You.
Did you know that if you lower your stress, your sleep will improve? It’s true. But let’s back a bit. It is the rare urbanite who doesn’t experience stress. We assume that is just part of being a New Yorker. But when stress is constant the body slowly begins to wear down and, over time, break down. This slow but steady stress can wreak havoc with our ability to sleep. Using a simple muscle test we can see the health of your hormone system. If there is wear and tear on your thyroid, your adrenals or any gland/hormone, we locate, and then it repair it using whole food supplements. These systems are primarily the ones we focus on:
The Endocrine System. This can impact on weight (tired thyroid) and if left unchecked contributes to diabetes, menstrual or menopausal symptoms, and chronic ulcer.
The Adrenal Glands: “I sleep all night and wake up feeling fatigued”. If that’s you, stress has been spiking cortisol, the stress hormone. This tends to drain the adrenal gland, which is the source of your energy (adrenaline). Our goal is to repair your damaged adrenals so you can have more energy.
Thyroid gland. Thinning hair, bad nails? Your thyroid may be in need of tender loving care. We had had success treating both Hashimoto’s and Hyperactive thyroid. If your thyroid is weak, we repair the underlying issue using targeted supplements rather than with drugs.
Your Sleep will get better as you Stress Less
Perhaps you’re one of those people who can’t sleep due to deep stress in your life. You wonder why you’re unable to handle the stress that you have in the past. You see, part of the problem may be outside of your conscious control. There may be environmental toxins at work due to toxins in the air you breathe, the food you eat and the water that you drink.
The list of toxins in the atmosphere is long, and includes heavy metals, toxic chemicals, immune suppressants and food allergies. Combined, they lead fatigue, IBS, arthritic conditions, asthma and skin rashes to name just a few problems. This also will impact on your ability to sleep through the night in a healthy manner. It is our job to first check to see if your body indeed does have any toxicity.
Once we have located the precise problem, then we use targeted supplements to get rid of them. Our goal, as always, is to safely leach out the toxins while building your immune system so that it may better fight off the seemingly endless host of possible pathogens. This process can take time, but it’s certainly worth it to have your body be free of toxic waste. And as you stress less, not only will your sleep improve, but you’ll feel great. And we all want better sleep.
Imagine having heavy metals clogging up your immune system–something that is all too common–and the ensuing fatigue and depression that can occur because of it, and you can start to see why it’s so crucial to be free of any toxins, to the best of your ability. But how are you supposed to know if that’s even a problem? There are very few tests for this sort of thing, after all. One gland that stress really messes with, is the adrenal glands, which sit atop your kidneys. They give us energy, but they also spew cortisol, which we get during times of ‘fight or fight’, when we feel threatened.
Stress Less, and Your Adrenals Will Love You for it.
Your adrenal glands may be in need of help if:
You feel dizzy when standing up, or feel winded climbing a set of stairs.
You wake up in the morning and feel exhausted, almost as if you’ve been running all night.
Try to lose weight and it simply isn’t coming off.
You are experiencing restless sleep or, conversely, feel a surge of energy at 10 p.m. If so, your adrenals may be fatigued.
