At my New York clinic I’m sometimes asked whether it is possible to treat physical pain such as Osteoporosis and arthritis naturally, without drugs. And the answer is yes and yes. In fact, my treatment protocol for both osteoporosis and arthritis entails acupuncture, food therapy and, when appropriate for the pain, hypnosis.
In this blog I’ll talk about food therapy, which in this case involves supplements—a key factor here. Standard treatments for osteoporosis are designed to build hard bones, which theoretically ‘resist fractures’. These are hard drugs, not unlike the one Sally Fields is selling (Fosamax). Now many physicians prescribe, 1,600 mg of calcium carbonate, which is…crushed rock. So current medical treatment is a choice of toxic chemicals or crushed rocks. Really?
The fact is we shouldn’t be building hard bones, but instead creating strong, flexible bones—the sort of bones that resist fractures. Interestingly, the nutrients that build flexible bones are also the nutrients that can provide relief from osteoporosis.
The two supplements that contain the nutrients to help build flexible and strong bones are cod liver oil and butter oil. And the reason for this is that cod liver oil is loaded with the full spectrum of vitamin A, D and K complexes. Cod liver oil and butter oil provide a full spectrum of nutrition that helps build strong, flexible bones and to heal damaged and arthritic bones and joints.
If you have osteoporosis, your results will be more dramatic if you combine these oils with weight lifting and osteofactor nutrients. So help yourself to strong flexible bones, without side effects. You’ll be very glad you did down the road.
Of course, it’s important to get the right kind of oil, as the world of nutritional oils is a shady one for the most part. I generally give my clients products that come from Standard Process. They are about the cleanest supplement company out there. Yes, that’s my opinion. And you may do with it as you wish.
